Clay bowls and leaves
Anleitung No. 2118Create beautiful bowls for your accessories. You can paint and individualise them as you wish. The bowls are great for storing jewellery, as well as for storing keys and much more. Besides our idea with the mandala shape, you can also create other beautiful bowls with other texture shapes.
You can also make beautiful leaves with clay. These different leaves are a great decoration and are also suitable for mobiles, as coasters, for mosaics and as window decoration.
How to design the bowls:
Beat the soft clay for approx. 15 minutes. To do this, tap the clay on the table, for example, or use a hammer. The clay must be well kneaded so that no cracks form during the drying time.
Roll out the clay with the Fimo Acrylic Roller like a dough. The mass should be about 1 cm thick. To get a decorative surface relief, place a 3D texture mold on the rolled out clay and press it into the clay with feeling. Go over a little more with the roller and carefully peel off the mat.
Use a chopstick to draw in the edges for the round bowl shape and use a scalpel to cut away the scraps. Using a chopstick and your fingers, smooth out the edges. Now place the shells in a bowl or similar to create the roundness and allow to dry. After drying for about 48 hours, brush with clay sealant.
Finally, trace the motifs with the pencils.
The leaves are designed as follows:
After a drying time of approx. 48 hours, brush with Tondicht.
Finally, the leaves can be coloured according to your wishes and sprinkled with glitter. To make the glitter last better, coat it additionally with napkin varnish.
