Finished blocks with white relief casting slip
For this wind light you need 22 cast blocks. We used Kreaflott relief casting slip to make them. Start by mixing about 3 tablespoons of casting powder with water to make a creamy mixture. Pour this mixture into a mold and tap lightly against the mold to remove any air bubbles. After about 30 minutes Time to dry: you can remove the cast blocks from the mold.
Take some sandpaper and smooth the edges of the blocks. Then leave them to dry for another 12 hours. Repeat the whole process until you have a total of 22 blocks.
wooden balls attach
Glue two wooden balls, to each block at a distance of about 1 cm from the edge. Give the balls enough time to dry before you continue.
Joining the blocks together
Place the blocks on edge and glue them together so that they form a circle.
A useful tip: place a bottle and arrange the blocks around it. This will give you a perfect circle.
Final assembly of the lantern
Once the wind light has dried sufficiently, you can place it on a decorative tree disc. Add a glass for tea lights and a tea light - and voilà, your homemade wind light is ready!
