Instructions No. 3538
Difficulty: Beginner
Working time: 15 Minutes
Step 1: Cut out the ear template and transfer to felt
First, print out the template for the ears and cut them out carefully. Use the sublimate pen to transfer the outlines of the smaller inner ears onto light green felt and the larger ears onto dark brown felt . The sublimate pencil is helpful as its markings will disappear by themselves after a while. Then cut out both pairs of ears with sharp fabric scissors.
Step 2: Shape the antlers from chenille wire
Now it's time to shape the antlers. Cut two 8 cm and two 4 cm long pieces from the chenille wire . Now gently twist a 4 cm piece around the end of an 8 cm piece to create an antler shape. Make sure that the antlers look stable and that the shape is clearly visible.
Step 3: Prepare the hot glue gun
Switch on the hot glue gun and give it a few minutes to allow the glue to melt. Always pay attention to safety when handling the hot glue gun to avoid burns.
Step 4: Assemble the components
Decide how you want the pine cone to hang later - with the pointed or the wide side up. Both are possible! Glue the smaller inner ears in the middle of the larger ears. Then roll up the hat slightly, apply glue to its edge and carefully place it on the pine cone. Attach the antlers and the ears to the left and right of the hat.
Step 5: Design the face of the reindeer
Now give your reindeer a face! Glue the small eyes in the middle of the pine cone and attach the pompom as a nose directly underneath.
Step 6: Design the suspension
To hang up your reindeer, cut a piece of nylon thread and thread it through a needle. Pull the thread through the top of the hat, remove the needle and knot the ends together to create a sturdy hanger. If you like, you can attach a small clip to the antlers to give the reindeer even more charm.
It's time to get creative and decorate your home with these charming reindeer made from pine cones.
