VBS Craft kit "Terracotta pot elks"
Instructions No. 2843The lovingly crafted terracotta pot elks are a real eye-catcher. Our craft kit also offers you a nice gift idea to give your loved ones for Christmas or St. Nicholas. With the instructions, we provide you with both variants.
In addition to the materials included in the kit, all you need is a sharp scissors and hot glue.
Important: It is best to apply 3 coats so that the colour covers well. The individual layers of paint should always be completely dry before applying another.
In the next step, you are free to decide whether you want to use the moose as a decorative object or rather as gift packaging. Or you can do it like in our example and make both versions.
Variant decorative object:
1. After the base colour has dried, place the terracotta pots on the table with the opening facing downwards. Now tie the bow at the bottom of the rim. If necessary, you can glue the bow on at certain points. Pull along the ends with open scissors so that the ribbons curl. If the ends are too long, simply shorten them.
2. Now transfer the motif template for the ears onto the craft felt. Cut them out with sharp scissors. Apply a dot of hot glue to the lower ends of the ears and glue them together. This makes them look more plastic. Then glue on the ears and immediately also the eyes and the pompom nose.
3. Finally, bend the antlers out of chenille wire. To do this, cut 2 x 6 cm pieces. Wrap these two pieces around the ends of the remaining chenille wire. Now twist the chenille wire in the middle to form a spiral and glue it onto the terracotta pot.
Variation gift wrapping:
1. First repeat step 2 from the decorative object variation.
2. Now bend the antlers. To do this, cut a piece of chenille wire into quarters. Wrap one piece of chenille wire to the other so that you have one antler each. Glue the finished antlers to the inside of the terracotta pots.
3. Finally, fill the cellophane bags and place them in the terracotta pots. Close them with the satin ribbon. Pull along the ends with open scissors so that the ribbons curl. Simply shorten the ends if they are too long.
Have fun making them!
